What a difference a week can make. In this case difficulties we all share in overcoming the spread of the Covid-19, or Corona virus.
Please be aware that amid the latest health concerns, Capitol Services will remain open and will be here to answer questions, emails, etc. That being said, many State agencies are taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Much of the CSLB staff is teleworking. This could cause a possible delay in some of their services or response times to be delayed, however it will not stop the issuance of contractor licenses.
The Nevada Contractors Board has officially closed down and is only offering emergency-related services as much as feasible. Contractors and customers may continue to submit applications, forms, or complaint documents to the Board’s offices however be aware that they may not be processed until office hours are reinstated.
The Arizona Registrar of Contractors continues to remain open and process applications and investigate cases. With that said, understanding the White House’s March 16, 2020 guidance recommending that for 15 days people avoid gathering of 10 or more individuals, the AZ ROC offers many services online and encourages their use.

Contractors State License Board Closing its Test Centers Statewide in Response to COVID-19 Health Emergency
Closure of eight test centers takes effect immediately (Please note as of June 1st 2020 all but Berkeley are reopened, if you have a pending test date in Berkeley you may want to reset for Sacramento.)
SACRAMENTO – The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) is announcing that all eight of its test centers throughout California will close, effective today, Thursday, March 19, 2020. The closure will last through April 16, 2020.
The decision was made in response to the COVID-19 health emergency and to ensure the safety of test candidates and staff. The test centers are in Berkeley, Fresno, Norwalk, Oxnard, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, and San Jose.
Candidates can reschedule their exams via email at: exams@cslb.ca.gov. They can also reschedule by phone at: (916) 255-3498. Due to expected high call volume, CSLB recommends using email for a faster reply.
Good news, the test rescheduling fee is being waived for cancelled exams.
Through the health emergency, CSLB remains committed to its mission of consumer protection through the licensing and regulation of California’s construction industry.
Most CSLB staff remain on-duty, either at its Sacramento headquarters or offices throughout the state, or through teleworking. CSLB’s focus is to remain accessible while continuing to provide our essential services.
